Philippine Collection
The Philippine collection consists of four artifacts (MAP 3259, 3260, 3261, 3262) which were included in the collection of the Asia and Pacific Museum in 1976. These are manuscripts made from bamboo slats with texts in the Hanunuo language used by the Mangyan people inhabiting Mindoro island. This is the only place in the Philippines where the local script has survived to this day. Nowadays it is mostly used in the production of manuscripts dedicated to the tourist market.
